This year the new member initiation was carried out by Ed Beins and Tory Sims. There were 12 Inductees in all.
Ed Beins started the show off by talking a little about the history of the Beins family "brands". He explained that he did research at the library and upon further investigation found that there was not a "Beins Brand" registered.

Looking at the different styles he made brand with the letters "WHB". "When you straighten out the legs of the 'W' , and connect it to the letter 'B' with a straight line forms the initials WHB", he says. With the crowds approval this brand was adopted as the "Beins Brand" and the new members were branded with this mark.

Also introduced and approved for further use was the "Beins Family Trial Membership". Used to allow future new family members to test the waters in this wonderful family a certificate was made that when retained would allow the individual to forgo another initiation The catch was that they had to retain the signed Trial Membership and bring it to the next reunion after they were officially part of the family.
New members were given a fun yet exciting task of "guessing what is in the Bean Pot". Everyone was shown three bed pans and told there were beans in them. After being blind folded they were instructed to guess what was in the pans. Among the items were pea pods, gummy bears, dum-dum lolly pops, tomatoes. The most exciting item was left for the adults and was a nice soft banana. As they went to stick their hand in that pot the crowd urged them not to do it that it was too disgusting.
