The Beins Families have been holding family reunions since 1949. The reunions usually take place every three years and have been held at various locations around the United States. The Descendants of William and Ireane Beins now reside in over 15 states. |
Finding a central location to maximize the attendance and minimize the travel is the job of a volunteer reunion committee. The committee is formed during the prior reunion and is in charge of the planning of the next reunion three years down the road.
The reunions first started out as a week long affair and have since been reduced to a extended weekend. Beins family members spend this weekend catching up on what every one has been up to over the past three years as well as bonding with new members to the family. Activities generally carried out include showing off pictures, singing original
"Beins made Songs", talent shows, scavenger hunts and practical jokes.
