Ethel Maree Beins was the youngest child born to William & Irene Beins, May 21, 1920, the only baby born in the NEW house. She enjoyed growing up on BEINS FARM located 1 mile north and 2 3/4 west of Highways 14.

She walked the 3/4 mile to attend rural school Dist #77 for eight years, then gratuated from Aurora High School taking a Business Course. She was employed as bookkeeper and secretary at Anawalt & White Department Store until her marriage on Sunday 8:00 AM September 21, 1941 to Wayne A. Shaneyfelt. Wayne had been drafted in March 1941, completed his Basic Military Training, then stationed at Lowry Field. They drove to Denver immediately after the wedding so "Shaney" could stand Reveille at 6 AM Monday morning.
They have two children, Rita Maree and Randal, who with their mates Lee Bring and Audrey Lentfer, each have two children, Angie and Chad, Ashley and Drew. The 10 of them are known as the "ShaBrings".
Her Accomplishments include:

  • Life long memership in Aurora Christian Church, willingly serving in all capacities.
  • 4-H Club member and leader.
  • Awarded a trip to Columbus Ohio in 1936 to present Demonstration at National Dairy Show.
  • Holds a 50+ year membership in General Federation of Womens' Clubs.
  • Holds a 50+ years membership in Nebraska Extension Clubs as a Merry Jane.
  • A Lifetime membership- Disciples of Christ Historical Society.
  • A Lifetime membership in American Legion Auxiliary
  • Red Cross Nurse's Aide at St. Joseph's Hospital, Denver, during WWII.
  • Key person in convincing Hamilton County Commissioners to create a 60-bed Nursing Home in Aurora known as Hamilton Manor
  • The Church activities always took precident during my lifetime, sometimes over my family.
  • Delivering "Meals on Wheels" every Wednesday for 13 years.

My life long friend and pal has been my husband, "Shaney", of nearly 60 years.
