Perl Harold Beins was born December 10, 1906 on a farm near Aurora Nebraska. He graduated from Aurora High School and took a few courses at the University of Nebraska before returning to his life's work, farming.

On Feburary 5, 1931 he married Amy Lockhart and to them were born Bertina Ruth and Beverly Jean. Harold and Amy enjoyed travel. In their retired years the couple enjoyed wood working.
